“Papa!” said the little boy, “Papa, look at that beautiful, brown, and white accented horse! It looks magnificent!” He said. Russel, the grey and white pony was a “mere pile of rubbish” according to the other children. “Oh papa, may we get a horse like that one connected to the wagon?!” “That one?” his dad pointed to the horse. His dad grinned and said; “Russel’s good enough. ” the boy cried; “Russel’s not nearly as pretty as that one!” “yes.” Said his father, “but is beauty more important than work?” The boy stood silent. Indeed, this was a good question. Russel was a hard worker. When the other wagon passed, his papa put a carrot 13 feet away from Russel. Russel ran toward”s it as fast as a cheetah. The brown horse passed again and it ran as slow as a tortoise. “Oh…” said the boy the boy patted Russel on the mane and looked away. In the corner of his eye, he saw that all of the chickens were gone from the cage. He told his father. It was spilling into nightfall as fast as his Mother pouring milk for him before his bedtime. *click* the boys father got ready his gun. “go prepare for bead.” said his father “papa!” said the boy. “what about you?!” his father was evading the little boys questions. “never mind me. your mom and sisters made a pretty quilt. why don’t you go inside and see it!” said his father. “now go.” the little boy went inside, shut the door, and went to bed. In the morning, they had no breakfast nor lunch. Soon, it was time to do chores. they swept, cleaned the stalls, and went to the river to grab clean water. They soon fed their dog; “Betsie”. Then, Dinner flew by. Their mom prepared carrot soup”father,” said Alexia. (one of the sisters) “might I ask…” “go ahead.” replied her father.”Not to sound greedy or anything, but where is the meat?”said Alexia. “no meat.” replied the father. “all the flocks were stolen.”” what about the market?” said the little boy. “too expensive” said their mother. “your father and I already have the bills for your school.” “we can work!” suggested Isabella ( the oldest sister.) “we can work at the river and fetch water for the school!” “well…” sighed her father. “it doesn’t hurt to try. ” so the next day, they went to school. when thy came back home, they put all of their well earned money on the table and counted the money. “let’s see…” said their father. “3.08” “Well, kids, I’m so proud of you all but that’s not even enough to buy one egg!”their mother exclaimed.” “we need 7.00 more!” replied their father. so, they baked bread, made beans, and scrubbed icky stalls for 14 months straight. Then, they had enough to buy two more houses three times the size as their regular one!! ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐.
