RECAP: I lived on the island for about a month now, and I started to miss my family back at Ireland I wonder if they’re doing all right. They must be worried sick about me! Good thing they weren’t on the plane with me. I wonder what would happen if I actually made it to Hawaii with my grandparents …
“Emma?” Are you all right? you spaced out for like 10 minutes.” Kailano chuckled. “Yeah… just thinking about home. ” I reply. “Oh! you must be worried sick about your family!” Kailano says in pity. “Yes, actually I am. I was sent here by my father who is currently fighting with my mother. He thought it would be better if I stayed with my grandparents until things calmed down. ” I say. “Well, my family and friends are almost done with your boat to get back home. It’s not that far away to where you’re going. Do you know how to sail? ” Kaillano says. “No… I’ve never sailed a boat in my entire life.” I reply. “Oh no… This wasn’t planned. How are you going to get back home?. Ok. I have one solution but I would have to leave my home, or someone could go with you. ” Kailano says.
I walk to the beach and sit down. I feel the warm sand against my legs. A cool wave brushes against my feet. I slip off my dress leaving my under clothes on and hop into the cool water. As I float onto my back, I feel the warm sun against my stomach and forehead. *SpLaSh! SpLaSh!* I hear Kailano running into the water where I am. “Hey! You didn’t tell me you were going in the water! I would’ve came withy you!” Even though Kailano was about 15 she still acted like a kid. “I’m sorry, I just wanted some time alone to think…” I say. “Whatcha thinkin’ about?” Kailano says eager to hear my answer. “Just wondering about how I’m going to get home.” I say sadly. “Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to get you back home.” Kailano looked at me in pity and doubt.
